G.I.M.A. – Guild of Independent Martial Arts – is a professional martial arts association welcoming all styles.

We advise and support Instructors to enable them to provide martial arts instruction in a safe environment, and recognise commitment to excellence in our Star Rating system for all of our Instructor members.

We offer Government accredited training, CRB background checks, grade registration for Instructors and students, merchandise and PR opportunities and provide black belt grading, conferences and competitions to all members on a regular basis.

Star rating – A transparent method of viewing an instructor’s level of qualification.

All styles – Membership is open to all styles of traditional and modern martial arts.

Training – Formal Instructor Qualifications such as First Aid, Health & Safety, Child Protection, Coaching and Club Management, as well Professional Trainers Certificate and the 7303 Qualifications, are provided through a government recognised educational body.

Safe aspects – Ensuring safe training and working practises for all members by offering CRB checks and having a minimum standard of membership -Insurances must be in place

Competitions – There will be national and regional competitions organised throughout the year. These will be open to all with Guild members receiving a discounted rate.

Black Belt Gradings – will be held at our national conferences.

Conferences – We will be offering the opportunity to train in various disciplines in seminars presented by some of the Guild’s leading Instructors, and to trade ideas and methods in an informal setting.
